How turning on online appointments changed my life
Sometimes you have to give up control in order to gain it. For Charlene, founder of Reign Salon and Retreat in Melbourne, it was giving up some control over how she took her bookings.
After being against the idea for years, and not wanting to lose her unique connection with customers, Charlene decided to give her booking system a makeover.
She put down her phone, closed her laptop, and turned on online appointments. But this is Charlene’s story to tell, so let’s give her the chair.
I’m out of my comfort zone… And I’m loving it.
I had been so nervous and resistant to this step for so long. I worried about handing over control of my books to new (for me ) tech. I worried that I wouldn’t be able to text sweet nothings to my clients. And I worried that online deposits would put people off.
But the truth is this… Holding on to these worries wasn’t serving me well, and frankly, I just didn’t have time to do it manually anymore.
In the best way possible, I am in over my head with my busy workload and beautifully colourful social calendar. (I’m also out here trying to find my king, which requires time to go on dates!).
And then there’s the staying healthy piece, which needs time, energy and consistency. Life is busy, but I have finally realised that the scheduling of clients doesn’t need to be.
I’m excited, a bit nervous, but mostly relieved to have made this big leap. I always loved being able to make online bookings, so I really hope my clients will appreciate the convenience of it too.
I’ve been so pleasantly surprised at how easy it has been, I’ve had so many bookings, and none of them booked through me! It’s been a journey, but here I am at the other end with my story to tell.
Charlene xx
